You need a user in that Foundry world before any of this works. Ask Andrew for one if you don’t have it.
1Install the Foundry module
Done once, by whoever runs Foundry. Players skip this step.
- agent-gateway/module.json
- The manifest Foundry installs from. Version 0.1.0.
- agent-gateway/agent-gateway.zip
- The module itself. Foundry downloads it for you.
- In Foundry’s setup screen, open Add-on Modules and select Install Module.
- Paste this into Manifest URL and select Install:
https://dl.aindriub.app/agent-gateway/module.json - Launch the world. As GM, open Settings, then Manage Modules, tick Agent Gateway and save.
- In Configure Settings, under Agent Gateway, turn on Enable player agents. It’s off by default, and players’ assistants can’t do anything until it’s on.
2Pair your Foundry user
Everyone who wants an assistant, once per browser.
- Sign in to foundry.aindriub.app as yourself.
- Open Settings, then Configure Settings. Under Agent Gateway, select Pair with gateway.
- Set Gateway URL to:
wss://gw.aindriub.app/link - Select Copy my ids and send them to Andrew. He sends back a one-time pairing code made for your user only.
- Enter the code in Pairing code and select Connect.
Keep Foundry open in that browser while you use an assistant. Requests that need your approval appear there.
3Connect your assistant
Pick the one you use. Every option signs in the same way: your browser opens a page on gw.aindriub.app where you choose the world, your Foundry user and what the assistant may do, then type a code that appears in your own Foundry window.
Claude Code
Needs Claude Code 2.1.224 or later. In a terminal:
claude plugin marketplace add https://dl.aindriub.app/claude/marketplace.json
claude plugin install foundry-gateway@aindriub-dl
Then start Claude Code, run /mcp, choose agent-gateway and sign in when your browser opens.
- claude/marketplace.json
- The marketplace Claude Code reads. It pins the plugin’s checksum, so a changed download is refused.
- claude/plugins/foundry-gateway-0.1.0.zip
- The plugin: the gateway connection plus a skill that tells Claude how to work in Foundry safely. Version 0.1.0. Claude Code downloads it for you.
Claude on the web or desktop
- In Claude, open Customize, then Connectors, and select Add custom connector.
- Set the MCP server URL to
https://gw.aindriub.app/mcp, keep sign-in turned on, and select Add. - Select Connect and sign in.
On a Team or Enterprise plan, an organisation owner adds the connector first, under Organization settings, then Connectors.
ChatGPT
Not yet tested end to end with ChatGPT. Expect rough edges.
The quickest way, in any ChatGPT:
- Go to chatgpt.com/plugins, select the plus button, then Add custom MCP server.
- Name it Foundry Agent Gateway, set the Server URL to
https://gw.aindriub.app/mcp, and choose OAuth for Authentication. - Accept the warning, select Create as a plugin, then install it from your personal plugins.
To also get the plugin’s Foundry workflow instructions, use the ChatGPT desktop app and the package:
- chatgpt/foundry-agent-gateway-chatgpt.zip
- The plugin: the gateway connection plus a skill that tells ChatGPT how to work in Foundry safely. Version 0.1.0.
- Unzip it so the folder lands at
~/.codex/plugins/foundry-agent-gateway. - List it in
~/.agents/plugins/marketplace.json, with itssource.pathpointing at that folder, as described in OpenAI’s plugin packaging guide. - Restart the desktop app, install the plugin from the Plugins directory, and sign in when ChatGPT asks.
4Stay in control
- To see or cut off an assistant, open Connected apps under Agent Gateway in Foundry’s settings. Revoking signs it out at once.
- Write access asks for your approval in Foundry by default. Don’t grant the destructive or code permissions unless you mean it.
- New computer or lost access? Ask Andrew for a new pairing code. It replaces the old pairing and signs out every assistant connected through it.
